I Am No Different than You are..
My Dear Students..
It was indeed a challenge to accept the proposition of online teaching. My heart and mind were not in sync and words cannot explain their opposing perspectives. I had to upgrade or give up by making my redundancy explicit. I chose the former and took to learning, learning to teach better, and be mindful of the situation. It started by attending a series of webinars, some of which were just talks and some of course with wonderful takeaways.
Here, I need to confess, during the webinars, I tried my best to be the best student by being all ears to all that was told, but failed miserably when talks would get extended. I would doodle all over my notebook, check my WhatsApp messages or indulge in chats when the same concept would be repeated twice, check how many participants have logged in and if I knew someone, check chat boxes often to check responses thereby to see how many share my thought-process, try to answer first during polls and await to hear that I was right.. .so on and so forth.
While I was reflecting this morning on my learnings so far, I realized despite all my follies I ended up grasping new concepts, applied them where required, and did well in my assignments and somewhere down the lane behaved throughout the way you would have behaved.
If a grown-up like me cannot focus for long, how can I expect you, youngsters, to focus for a 40 min class? This realization has helped me plan my lessons better, have more energizers and interactions. I am prepared for this and I hope you are. I understand you as I am no different than you, my dearies, online classes are going to be a challenge, but trust me we will learn.
Happy to be like you!

DeleteMiss, like always, you've once again empathetised with the students at such a critical time regarding an important lesson of online classes. It was a pleasure reading this article and knowing that along with the students, the teachers too are finding it difficult to cope with online classes. Thank you for assuring us that during these tough times, teachers are student together will overcome the difficulties and continue to learn new concepts. Hope to see you soon miss.
